vika
designed by: Monica Förster
Stockholm-based designer Monica Förster brilliantly captures the beauty of rivers carving
through  the land in northern Sweden in the undulating shape of her new Vika lounge chair.
The beauty of this design is found in the movement of the exterior line as it loops around the
chair. It was crucial to the success of the piece that this curving line appears as effortless
and spontaneous as it would in nature. Förster says of the design: “To achieve the perfect
line, I ultimately hand shaped a single copper wire.” available at:

atlas coffee table
designed by: Brad Ascalon
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
In creating this collection, Ascalon was inspired by Atlas, the Greek mythological character
condemned for eternity to carry the heavens on his shoulders. Translating this into a physical
object, Ascalon was intrigued by the challenge of making an elegant frame that could
carry the weight of solid stone. His Atlas Coffee Table (2012), like Atlas himself, exemplifies
strength and endurance. Top made in China; base made in U.S.A. available at:
